It's not so easy to decide whether to set up a buffet style or a sit-down party. I personally think that it's a very intimate experience to sit down for a joyous meal to celebrate a special occasion even if you have a larger number of guests, you can set up several identically designed tables...but if you are inviting groups of people who do not know each other maybe a buffet will help the mingling...
And if you definitely can't make up your mind, you can still do both, the guests will help themselves before sitting down!
